This blog is intended to enhance the Ware Street football Sunday by promoting discussion, assigning tasks (e.g., the bringing of food and libations), informing the general public of rule changes and new punishments, highlighting outstanding performances and doling out necessary reprimands for actions unbecoming of the football Sunday standards set forth by Thomas Paine, General George S. Patton (U.S. Army-Ret.) and Tom Buhle.

Super Blog Friday

The staff at Football Sunday is in awe at the rampant media craze surrounding this years Super Bowl. Apparently it’s a 3 ring circus of celebrity parties, ill-mannered midgets, and media bloggers alike. Amazingly there are some football players in Miami as well.

We were most inspired by Chicago's backfield eating defensive lineman Tank Johnson. Mr. Johnson, who's been cited and charged on 3 separate occasions in the last 18 months, is currently out on bail for a 10 pack of gun charges.

In his defense he has been quoted as saying:
In reference to the fact he was given special permission to leave Illinois while facing felony charges: "It is what it is."

In reference if he was sorry about his actions and the unfortunate slaying of his bodyguard and friend: "Sorry to who?"

In reference to his persona and public perception: "I never hurt nobody."
In reference to who on his team does he look up to: "Olin Kreutz"*

*Kreutz, a 5 time pro bowl center, has broken a teammates jaw during a fist fight, once in college and once in the Pros. Nice.

Luckily for humanity and our children rich athletes get special treatment. So Tank ain’t in the tank, instead "tearing up da club" because "ain't nobodody gonna hold [him] down!"

With the all the happenings in Miami, the staff felt it was time to hold our own media event. WELCOME TO HELL, BITCHES!

Football Sunday sent TV Azteca pin-up sideline reporter/attraction Ines Sainz to the many boroughs of Northern Virginia, to interview some of the stars and characters of Football Sunday, in search for the hard answers. Trust me, they were all hard!

She returned with a highlight of her media session.

Tom “Lights Out” Buell
Ines: So what’s your favorite football team?
Lights Out: I want the Colts to win; I think its Peyton’s time. I want the Colts to win.
Ines: (Takes a Drink) So you like the Colts.
Lights Out: I’m not saying that, I just think its Peyton’s time. I want the Colts to win, yeah, I want the Colts to win
Ines: (Drinks again) Thank you.
Lights Out: Huh-hmmmm, okay, that’s it I guess. Okay, okay.

Jason “Dr. McTastee” Buckley
Ines: What’s your take on the Bears?
Buck: Well, I played Tight End in high school, All Met actually, so I guess I’m an offensive minded guy, but I gotta hand it to Da’ Bears. I love their defense. Too bad Grossman is a putz. Hey by the way where are you from? I’m thinking some where exotic. Brazil?
Ines: Actually I’m Mexican.
Buck: Really, I’m actually part Honduran. Como Estas? See, I even know some Espanola.
Ines: Esta bien, gracias. Hasta man-never!

Double Dare: Whoa, hehehe, whoa. Take it easy, really, whoa, hehehe.

Double Dare: Hey, do they have Taco Bell in Mexico?
Ines: No
Double Dare: Hehehe, oh, that sucks.

Mike “Dude, Where’s My” Carr
Ines: Man, what a weird chico, anyways, what’s your take on Peyton Manning.
Carr: Well, I expect failure, he’s a Manning. My Manning failed me, why not this model.
Ines: Oh yeah, your talking about Peyton’s brother Eli. Isn’t he so adorable?
Carr: Adorable! He sucks. I hate him and wish him many nights of a burning rectum.
Ines: I see.
Carr: You know what, I don’t need this shit. I’m engaged.

Kevin “Handsome Henry” Scharpf
Handsome Henry: Wow you’re hot. Carr, wait!

Pete “Crazy Legs” Stickle
Ines: So I hear you have a cat?
Crazy Legs: Who told you that? Dustin! This interviews over.

Rick “Chaputzkah” Fromberg
Chaputzkah: Sorry about my friend, he gets a little antsy around microphones.
Ines: Oh, that’s okay, the crowds been kind of tough today. Where are you from?
Chaputzkah: Jersey, I’m a Mets and Giants fan, oh yeah and I went to Richmond.
Ines: I’m actually Mexican, but I love America, great fun! Lots of familiar faces too, I mean I feel just as at home in a Wal-Mart speaking Espanola as I do English

Ines: I can tell. So what are your thoughts on Sunday?
HB: Me thinks I’m going to wreck shop on some dip and then maybe break a chair. Doesn’t my olde English impress you?
Ines: Not really, I’m Mexican.
HB: That’s cool, I speak olde Mexican too.

Diane “Okie-Doke” Masone w/boyfriend
Ines: What’s it like it like for a female to partake in Football Sunday?
Okie-Doke: I mean, it’s cool, I don’t mind the guys and I like to just chill out on Sundays. Hey, wanna make out? I bet they’ll all buy us a drink.

IRS: Yeah, you know they call me Charm City, back at Tech.
Ines: Really, I couldn’t tell.
IRS: I also have my CPA.
Ines: Is that like INS. That’s it, I’m out of here.
IRS: So sorry to see you deport! Hahahahaha, I kill myself sometimes.

Ines: Well though my interviews didn’t bring much insight to the games,I think it’s safe to say this will be quite a Sunday for the persons of Football Sunday. I have to get going though, my work visa expires tonight and I’m still trying to meet Prince. This is Ines Sainz signing off. Hasta Luego!
