This blog is intended to enhance the Ware Street football Sunday by promoting discussion, assigning tasks (e.g., the bringing of food and libations), informing the general public of rule changes and new punishments, highlighting outstanding performances and doling out necessary reprimands for actions unbecoming of the football Sunday standards set forth by Thomas Paine, General George S. Patton (U.S. Army-Ret.) and Tom Buhle.

Where You Sleeping, Fool?

Sleep is the last affordable luxury. Everyone needs it, though few get enough. Sleep is a time of recovery and a time of deep thought. Webster's defines sleep as:

The natural periodic suspension of consciousness during which the powers of the body are restored. A state resembling sleep: as a : a state of torpid inactivity; the closing of leaves or petals especially at night; a state marked by a diminution of feeling followed by tingling ; the state of an animal during hibernation.

We at Football Sunday define sleep as:

The time we spend in bed with our eyes closed between booze, work, and the pursuit of utter awesomeness.

Sleep although commonplace, is often considered an intimate act. I mean, you can't just sleep with anybody or just anywhere. To understand and better appreciate sleep, you gotta do some digging.

Here's what we've found.

Sleep habits are a definite mirror into ones personality. Take the following subjects:

Current Korean Premiere, Kim Jong Il, is often viewed as crabby and unresponsive in the early hours,. Officials speculate that the dictator's grogginess is due to a hyperactive agenda. There have also been reports long nights of restless tossing and turning.

Here's some free advice from Football Sunday:

Try a Posture Pedic.

We all know the personal advantage of a good night sleep. In in these days of strife and terror, why sleep on a cheap matress?

Former NFL Linebacker and only 2 time winner of the Dick Butkus Award, Brian Bosworth empathizes with the Korean Dictator.

The Boz says, "Things haven't always been easy for me. I brought some of that on myself, though I blame most of my problems on everyone else. But hey, Kim Jong, what you need is a new outlook. You can't solve your problems with a new bed. You gotta look inside yourself."

Later he added, "Career sucess and longevity is in the eye of the beholder. Mullets are back, baby!"

Kazakhstani journalist and filmographer, Borat Sagdiyev, also suffers from exhaustion.

"Ummm, yes. Sometimes I not sleep good so much. It is mainly because of my back pain. That is nice, but not so much for sleep. I used to have hay. The beds in America are nice."

He also added:

"Plus, I am often of thinking to play shoot the dog or table tennis. I do like to sleep with the animals, but mostly for sexy time. I am wanting to sleep with Kim Jong Il..............NOT."

Borats controversial film can be seen at a theatre near you.

Neil, a former Football Sunday regular and self proclaimed animal rights activist says:

"I understand the pressures of being a filmmaker. I don't agree, however, with Mr. Sagdiyev treatment of animals. As an animal rights activist, the thought of committing any 'nocturnal act' [as Mr. Sagdiyev alludes to] is vile and disgusting; even if the comment was 'schtick' and a part of his 'persona.'

Neil added, "There is no animal sex in my movie."

It is upsetting to many that Borat, The Boz, and even the loveable Kim Jong Il have serious issues. They are sleep deprived and miserable. Even the Boz doesn't believe his self-fulfilling rhetoric.

Yet while these men suffer, one man seems well rested and ready to strike gold again.

Yes, thats right, Ahmed Best.

After nearly single handedly destroying the once impeccable standard of the Star Wars franchise. Best seems ready for more.

"Yeah thats right, you saw me in all 3. Bitch I'm set for life!"

"You 'critics' may not have like my character, but n*gg# I'm sleeping on platinum sheets and wipin' with benjamins!"

Though no future projects have been as fruitful as Episodes 1 - 3 Best is encouraged that after being the Ire of a Nation of Dorks (this editor included) his best work is still ahead of him.

" I think I have yet to realize my talents potential."

With that in mid, we the editors of Football Sunday asked our constiuents.

Where You Sleeping, Fool?

"I sleep whereever I want. Don't bother me with such pithy questions. I have real responsibility now. I have a cat." - Mr. Pete Stickle

"Well since we both had to return our Eli Manning Sheets, I tend to sleep at Rachel's a lot." - Rick

"You returned your Eli Manning Sheets?" Scharpf

"Rrrraaarrrr, rarrr, rarh!" - Chewbacca

"Up the Stairs, First Bedroom on your right." - Redskinettes

"Oh Yeahhhh!" - Nato

"WHAT? Stickle hasn't been here in weeks." - Bucktown
